What Hangulmate is
Learning a new writing system shouldn’t require memorizing grammar rules or memorizing thousands of vocabulary words first. Hangulmate is a dedicated phonetic tool where you can tap a consonant, add a vowel, and immediately hear how they combine to create a sound.
What Hangulmate is not
Hangulmate is not a general Korean language app. We do not teach complex grammar conjugations or conversational fluency. We focus with laser precision on one foundational skill: reading and writing the alphabet. Once you can read the letters, every language course and K-culture journey becomes vastly easier.
Sound & Accuracy Guarantee
Every audio syllable and letter name in Hangulmate has been curated and verified by a native Korean speaker. We do not generate audio live via machine synthesis on your browser; every sound file is carefully reviewed before publication.
Typography & License
The typography used across Hangulmate is the Kimjungchul Gothic and Kimjungchul Myungjo font family, originally created by Junglim Architecture. We honor the design legacy of Korean geometric letterforms.
